Australia Zoo Kids Corner
Versatile Structures was contracted by Australia Zoo to design and install a visually appealing and functional shade solution for the Kids Corner area, specifically over a giant jumping pillow. This project presented unique challenges, including time constraints and the need to accommodate existing trees. As the primary contractor, Versatile Structures took full responsibility for the design, project delivery, and quality control measures.
Design Options and Custom Membrane:
To ensure the shade structure complemented the vibrant atmosphere of the Kids Corner, Versatile Structures proposed four unique designs for consideration. The chosen design incorporated a colourful, UV-protected custom membrane, offering both shade and protection from harmful sun rays. The membrane was carefully selected to ensure durability and longevity, providing a safe and enjoyable experience for children visiting the zoo.
Accommodating Existing Trees and Time Restraints:
One of the project's significant challenges was working around existing trees in the Kids’ Corner area while still providing adequate shade coverage. Versatile Structures' experienced team skilfully integrated the shade structure design with the natural surroundings, accommodating the existing trees and maintaining their integrity. Additionally, strict time restraints were successfully managed, ensuring the project was completed before the Christmas school holiday deadline, providing a shaded and enjoyable experience for visiting children.
