Work Health and Safety (WHS)

For the last five years, Versatile Structures has proudly held CM3 WHS accreditation, which is externally audited annually. Our last audit achieved a 100% success rate on the first submission, underscoring our unwavering commitment to continual improvement and maintaining the highest standards of workplace health and safety.

Training and Development

At Versatile Structures, we are dedicated to the growth and development of our team. We commit to starting one apprentice bi-annually, with the potential to increase this to annually if business growth permits. We have a strong relationship with local schools, providing work experience for school leavers and employing two candidates from this program. We aim to continue our engagement with work experience and traineeships.

Our installation team is encouraged and supported to achieve at least one new course qualification per year, and we regularly explore options for certificates specific to our trade to ensure our team remains highly skilled and knowledgeable.

Environmental Management Policy

Versatile Structures maintains and continually develops an Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO14001 standards. We are on track to achieve ISO14001 accreditation within the next seven years, reflecting our commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.

Quality Assurance

Our company upholds and continuously enhances a Quality Management Plan in alignment with ISO9001 standards. We have set a goal to achieve ISO9001 accreditation within five years, ensuring our customers receive products and services of the highest quality.

Professional Affiliations

We actively engage with industry associations, including the Master Builders Association, Australian Steel Institute, and Specialised Textiles Association. Our staff regularly attend industry briefings and workshops to stay informed about new products and practices, ensuring we provide the best possible solutions for our customers.

Community Involvement

Versatile Structures is committed to supporting our community. We regularly contribute to local sporting clubs and schools through various initiatives, including:

Donating shade structures to Redbank Plains Junior Rugby League Club
Donating a shade structure to a local family with a child who has a medical condition that makes her intolerant of sunlight
Sponsoring a local para-athlete’s airfares and accommodation for national events
Assisting schools with free tent set-up and breakdown during the Covid-19 pandemic
Providing free shade structure audits and compliance checks for schools
Sponsoring the Springfield Brumbies Basketball Club

We have also supported Futsal Brisbane, Samford Valley Target Archers, and Rotary. Our staff are encouraged to be active community members, reflecting our commitment to social responsibility.

Social Procurement

Versatile Structures promotes inclusive procurement practices. We currently employ two Indigenous workers on our installation team and use a buying guide to evaluate suppliers based on performance, quality, and serviceability. We do not discriminate against suppliers or subcontractors based on race, religion, gender, business size, or other extenuating circumstances.

We work with a diverse network of subcontractors, including sole traders and micro-enterprises, and collaborate with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and those who identify as LGBTQI. Our commitment to social procurement ensures a fair and inclusive approach in all our business operations.
